The suspension system: how important is it for a car?

The car is currently a good without which people could not carry out many of their daily activities. Given the fact that it is essential for many tasks, it is important to know some technical details that will allow you to maintain it correctly and reduce premature wear, and among this information there are those on the suspension system.

The suspension system: how important is it for a car?

The suspension system is one of the most important components of a car, as it connects the body and wheels. It also allows the discomfort to move without discomfort, but also to protect the important pieces from shocks.

The car suspension system performs two essential functions, more precisely:

  • It keeps the body high at the ground level, which protects the wear machine, the shocks created by the different types of road;
  • Protects the important components of the car.

Currently, developers create increasingly efficient systems, which reduce shocks not only to protect the car from the impact with the ground, but also for the greater comfort of passengers. Depending on the chosen system, road conditions and traffic needs, shocks may seem more or less, but all systems today offer growing comfort, unlike old models. With a good well -kept suspension, drivers can enjoy more on their car and will have a much more pleasant steering experience.

In addition, the role of suspension is a crucial stabilization. Although the wheels represent the contact surface with the ground, the shocks transmitted to the entire car are those responsible for the stability of the car. Therefore, the suspension system, designed to reduce them, is responsible for the stabilization of the car while driving.

When it comes to the types of suspensions, there are five categories of suspension for cars, more precisely the magnetic, mechanical, hydraulic, hydropneumatic and pneumatic. Each system has its own differences and if you intend to buy a new car, it is advisable to inform yourself about each to choose the best option based on your needs.

Mechanical suspension

It is created by components designed to reduce shocks and give the car a fluid and safe movement in traffic. The sources, for example, are used to support different types of road, as they will help the body to take the shape of the road without discomfort or changes in the body. The shock absorbers are also important, especially for the type of wounded road. Being filled with air, oil or gas, they have the role of reducing the shocks of this road and reduce the level of damage over time. The stabilizers are essential for the safety of the car in traffic, as they give the stability of the car during shifts, also on the types of wounded road.

Magnetic suspension

This type of suspension works on the basis of a special liquid, present in servomotors. Magnetic suspension has the same role as mechanical suspension, to provide stability and reduce shocks both for comfort and for the reduction of damage. This type of modern suspension is preferred because it offers a high level of safety and comfort. However, it must be said that the system’s response can be slower, because for the approximate types of roads a larger liquid must be released, which means that the reaction and adaptation to the road, in difficult conditions, can request a few more seconds.

Hydraulic suspension

The hydraulic suspension differs from other systems, as it can be adjusted along the road, depending on the road and the needs of traffic for greater safety and the best communication between the body and the wheels. To adjust the suspension, a pump is used that introduces the necessary oil in hydraulic actuators, the components that will replace the classic shock absorbers in this case.

Hydropneumatic suspension

This type of suspension replaces the elastic components of the classic system, such as springs and shock absorbers. Instead, uses liquid spheres technology that allow adaptation to any type of road and traffic needs. It is often used for sports cars, because it offers stability and the actual height of the car can be changed.

Pneumatic suspension

The pneumatic suspension uses another shock reduction system and, in principle, replaces the classic shock absorbers. This type of suspension uses pneumatic components and is usually used for large cars. However, the system of suspension of a normal machine can also be modified with a pneumatic.

Like any component, the suspension of the car can suffer over time, due to repeated bumps and shocks. Therefore, it is essential to periodically check the system, for optimal operation and greater safety. When it comes to Car salesThe system must always be controlled to ensure perfect operation.

There are some indications that you can see when the automotive suspension system is interested. The unusual noise, in particular that created by the corners, is one of the most common and important signs. If the car produces noises that he does not recognize when you are behind the wheel, it is time for an investigation.

In addition, any oil loss must be carefully verified, as this may indicate the deterioration of the system. Any deformation or crack in the soft and shock absorbers also requires a thorough investigation. On the other hand, the balance of the car can be an indication that you should not ignore. If the car tends to tilt on the left or right side and the balance is too steep, the suspension system can be influenced.

Therefore, suspension is one of the most important components of a car. It is not designed only to provide comfort while driving and to reduce damage to the car and parts, but it is essential for safety on the steering wheel and its stability. Therefore, it is important to know many details on the suspension systems, which are the indications that can cause a certain degree of damage and even when it is time to control optimal operation.
